Hi Steve,
I have similar setup as what you are trying to get going. I
setup my dhcp server to point to my ltsp server which is running on a
different box. My DHCP server is running on IP 10.20.5.23 and my LTSP server
is on 10.20.5.21. Below are snippets from my dhcpd.conf file.

next-server 10.20.5.21;
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This line tells the client where it should look to for its
next step in the boot process. In our case it specifies the address of the
TFTP server (where the kernel is located)

Then for the filename simply specifiy it like normal:
filename "/lts/vmlinuz-2.4.21-ltsp-1";

option root-path "10.20.5.21:/opt/ltsp/i386";
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is for the NFS root location.
Again you can see the IP address of the other system.

I'm trying to move things around on my network over time & I want my
dhcp server to be on a different machine to my LTSP server. I can find
nothing to explain how this is done or even if it is a problem but I
would like to know before I start if possible so as to keep everything
up.

dhcp gives the terminal a file name to start off but this seems to
suggest it is on the same host, do I:-

1) leave it & it will sort itself out
2) put something like "filename host:/tftpboot/lts" etc in dhcpd.conf
3) something else

Thanks in anticipation,

Steve
