Dear all, I have had the most horrific difficulties trying to get an nforce2 motherboard with built in LAN to network boot. While I have the PXE bootloader working fine, I am having a nightmare trying to get the root directory mounted over NFS.
I have compiled the kernel appropriately (2.4.20, and have tried both stock kernel and RedHat varient), it loads up pulls in the ramdisk then (naturally) falls over... What I want to try and do is to get the network card up and running using the ramdisk, then see if I can pivot_root. I have successfully tested the driver (nvnet.o) which I compiled for this kernel. Since this projects main call seems to be network booting, could any of you offer me some advice as to how to proceed. I assume you have seen every possible way of getting something to boot over the network. I'd really appriciate the help, this is starting to drive me mad, -ed -- Edward Grace Photonics Group, Physics Department Blackett Laboratory Imperial College SW7 2BW t: 020 759 47721 e: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: VM Ware With VMware you can run multiple operating systems on a single machine.
