"falls over..."   What does that mean ?

We'd be glad to help you diagnose your nfs root mounting problems, but
we need a bit more to go on.

First, try using the standard LTSP supplied kernel.  Let's see what
kind of problems you have.  If there are errors, tell us what they
say.

Also, look in /var/log/messages and /var/log/secure for clues.

Run:    showmount -e

to see if the directory you are trying to mount is actually exported,
and pay close attention to the IP addresses that are allowed to mount,
to make sure your client is in that range.

Make sure your workstation is listed either in the /etc/hosts file,
or is setup properly in dns, with the reverse mapping setup properly.
