Hello
I have a dual boot system with win98SE and Mandrake 9.1. Two HDD, primary has win98 and secondary
has Mandrake.
I have been trying to install vmware workstation on Mandrake . I am using the latest vmware 4.02 and it seems to have
installed fine. On the console as SU I ran the config file and I typed /usr/bin/vmware and guest OS installation
window opened up.
I have win98SE startup boot floppy disk and the regular win98SE CD. I inserted both. The floppy ran and presented
the usual options. I selected " start with cdrom support ". It created, C: as ramdrive and D: as the the cdrom.
I ran setup.exe from the win98 cdrom and the following message was displayed :
- Please wait while the setup initializes
- Scanning system registry
- Cannot create a temp directory
- If you have HPFS or NTFS installed on yur hard drive, you will need to create an MS-DOS boot
partition to setup windows.

I have not NTFS partition. What HPFS means I do not know.
My root is about 4GB and I created about 2GB for virtual disk.
Windows would require an active partition. How and when do you create that ?
I have gone through the user manual but it does give details. Is there any good help site
available on the net ?

Thanks in advance

Varun
