Fanying,

First thing I would do is set 'RUNLEVEL = 3', and then when you
get a bash prompt, type this command:

    free

That will show you how much RAM was detected and how much SWAP is
configured and in use.

That will at least make sure that the kernel has the same idea
about the amount of memory as you do.
