Hello *,
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to have a user's password be
case insensitive (i.e. PASSWORD or password or PassWOrd). They trouble I
am having is that users hit the CAP LOCK key and then "can't" log in.

You'd think that after the first three dozen times you walk over and
say "Well, your caps lock is on" they'd get a clue but they don't. :-(

I'm using the standard (shadow) passwd file and PAM.

I've seen mention of a solution if I was using LDAP or authenticating
against a database, but that seems like hunting a mosquito with a
bazooka.

I have also seen something about a PAM module called upperlower, but I
can't seem to find any real documentation on it.

  Any pointers?
