Werner,

If your server is handling 13 workstations happily at the moment, then
Win4Lin should run just as well as any other process. Each user session
requires about 85Mb RAM, plus whatever Windows software they're running,
so your 3G should cope fine. So far I haven't encountered any problems
at all with any Windows software that runs on Win98, except that audio
took some effort to make it work.

A more critical factor is the windowing system your clients are using,
whether a lightweight one like Icewm or heavyweight like GNOME.

The main limitation I've encountered is attaching local USB devices,
other than keyboard/mice. If anyone knows how to attach a USB camera,
for example, I'd be glad to know.

Hope this helps,

John Ingleby

Subject: [Ltsp-discuss] win4lin

Hello,
I want do setup win4lin on my ltsp server. Has anyone any experience
with win4lin? I have 13
terminals. What about the performance when 13 terminals (32 MB RAM) are
useing windows at the same
time (server PIV, 2,4 GHz, 3 GB RAM)?

cu
Werner
