This is an etherboot problem. Does it really show that garbage with my mAX addr}?My guess is that somehow this card cannot/is not interacting properly with the Compaq system. When I trace the LAN, No traffic from this card shows up, doesn't matter if there is anything else running on the LAN or not
But when I power up the Compaq I get this:
bootrom v1.5
etherboot/21 v4.6.12 (GPL)
Rom segment 0XC800 length 0X4000 reloc 0X9800
etherboot/21 v4.6.12 (GPL) for tulip
found ADMtek Centaur-P at 0x1400 Rom address 0x0000
Probing,,, (Tulip)Tulip [ My mAC addr} at ioaddr 0x1400
TX Setup Timeout!
searching for server 9DHCP)...
TX Timeout!
<sleep>
TX Timeout!
Somehow it seems not to setup the card correctly, but that would better be discussed in
the etherboot-users list.
The etherboot version btw. is not very recent. I personally never used 4.6.12...
A hint for the beginning: Try setting BIOS to "Plug'n pray OS installed: <no>" if that
option is available.
