I got a really odd problem, and I'm really out of ideas, so any suggestion how to fix the problem is welcome -PLEASE
My ltsp server is running RedHat 9, and I have used the rpm packages (ltsp-3) provided by the ltsp team, and it all works prefect!
The next step was to authorize the users against a NT4 PDC, that I accomplished with some help from samba/winbind. It also works perfect, the users can only log on the ltsp clients if the got a valid username/password on the nt4 pdc.
The final step was to mount the users personal folder and a public folder from the nt4 to the ltsp server, when a he was logging in. For that I used pam_mount, and the users get their personal folder mount at login and umounted at log out.
The folders is mounted at $HOME/myDocuments and $HOME/publicFolder
Now the problems come, when the users on the ltsp clients tries to access the mounted folders they can browse/use em for a short period (10s to 1min) and then the client freeze/dies . I can't no longer ping the client from the server, although I still can access the mounted folder in the users home directory from the server (as root) and list the content (the content on the NT4).
I have made the same setup some time ago, but then the backend was a win2k and not a nt4, I had no problems whatsoever?!
The problem is somewhere between the nt4 share and the ltsp client, but I don't know where
I'm inches away from a nervous breakdown, I REALLY need some help!!! PLEASE
