Dear Erik,
I also faced problem with lts.conf because of parsing by getltscfg.
My lts.conf looked somewhat like this.
[default]
XSERVER = auto
MOUSE = "PS/2"
|
|
|
SCREEN_1 = startx
X_MODE_0 = 800x600
[ws001]
X_MODE_0 = 1024x768
[ws002]
[ws003]
XSERVER = cirrus
Now in this case getltscfg was able to get configuration for ws001 properly.
But for ws003 and all the workstation mentioned below it, getltscfg was
creating problem. For ws003, everytime the display driver was detected as
cirrus_alpine in the XF86Config file. The video card was Cirrus Logic GD5446.
As per the vidlist, cirrus_alpine driver is to be used. But this driver was
not working. And even after specifying XSERVER=cirrus, getltscfg was not able
to read the lts.conf properly. Everytime it used to read XSERVER=auto and
then select cirrus_alpine driver. The reason for this I found was ws002 entry
in lts.conf. As you can see there is no parameter for ws002 but still I kept
it in the lts.conf because I had ws002 client.
After commenting out or removing the ws002 line everything worked smoothly.
There is an errata for "getltscfg" on the LTSP website.
Probably this input will be of help to you. I found that because of this my
whole system went crashing down.

Subject: [Ltsp-discuss] lts.conf
what would cause lts.conf to not be parsed properly. Parameters in the
[Defaults] section are picked up, but changes I make under the [ws001]
sections are being overlooked?
