i should think that 8019 isa nic needs option 128 and 9
option option-128 e4:45:74:68:00:00; option option-129 "NIC=eepro100, IO=0x300";
for kernel tp recognize the nic..but sounds like you are not getting the kernel
down. Have you used rset8019 to check the card?? your system may resent a card
that is in plug and play mode..chuck
# TEST NIC 8019
host ws009 {
# NIC 8019 montato sul compaq all-in
hardware ethernet 00:00:E8:7A:E7:AF;
fixed-address 192.168.1.10;
filename "/lts/vmlinuz-2.4.22-ltsp-2"; }
}
Hi,
I have downloaded and used RSET8019.
The ISA NIC was setted to be plug&play. Now I've changed it to "Jumperless", then:
Medium type: auto detect
Full-duplex: disabled
I/O Base: 300H
Interrupt: 10
Boot ROM: No boot ROM
I've installed tftpd-hpa instead of tftpd, and this is the line about tftp extracted from /etc/inetd.conf
tftp dgram udp wait root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/sbin/in.tftpd -s /tftpboot
I've changes from nouser to root.
This configuration still make work a PC with PCI NIC but it doesn't with the ISA NIC 8019.
Now I haven't (NBI)... but just dots, one at second... surely not like when they are showed quickly on the working stations.
In the dhcpd.conf I've got in the workstation session: option option-128 e4:45:74:68:00:00; option option-129 "NIC=ne IO=0x300";
but if I remove thoose lines nothing changes! :-( I can't make a point of this situation.
