Jim- Glad to see you found the workaround... it was a real problem for me, too, but I knew there had to be a workable solution.
I've been fairly swamped the last few weeks and I haven't been able to pursue this problem to figure out why that directory is empty. As I said in the linked post, the XFree on my LTSP terms is one I compiled from scratch from the XFree86 sources, so it's not just a problem with the LTSP version. My guess is that there is a build option that has to be set to build that directory, and perhaps it used to be set by default, but no longer is set. We need to find a way to build this directory and distribute it with the standard v4 distribution. If it's an XFree build script problem, the XFree people need to know about it.
