Glad to see you found the workaround... it was a real problem for me,
too, but I knew there had to be a workable solution.

I've been fairly swamped the last few weeks and I haven't been able to
pursue this problem to figure out why that directory is empty.  As I
said in the linked post, the XFree on my LTSP terms is one I compiled
from scratch from the XFree86 sources, so it's not just a problem with
the LTSP version.  

My guess is that there is a build option that has to be set to build
that directory, and perhaps it used to be set by default, but no longer
is set.

We need to find a way to build this directory and distribute it with the
standard v4 distribution.  If it's an XFree build script problem, the
XFree people need to know about it.

Hopefully next week I can devote some time to investigate.
