I ran tcpdump .. there was no traffic. I ended up replacing the ethernet card and the cable .. still nothing. Now for the weird part: I saw that nfs was not started.. so I started nfs .. Suddenly I got permission denied errors for /lts (even though the tftp server was running the -s flag to /tftpboot) The logfile pointed to an entry that was not available for NFS .. I created an export entry for /tftpboot/lts and a symlink to /lts ... now the workstation reads the kernel fine .. why ?? dunno ... -- Regards, Adrian Snyman Cell: (083) 647 5299 Fax: (086) 673 7373 E-Mail: adrians AT supply DASH chain DOT co DOT za /* Beat me, Whip me, Make me use Windows !! */ ================== The views expressed in this email are, unless otherwise stated, those of the author and not those of Supply Chain Services or its management.
