Hi Ken,

At the risk of being dense is there anything that needs to be installed/configured/tweaked on the Win XP Pro machine ?
When I launch from my Linux machine rdesktop -u username -p password ipaddress_or_hostname I get " Connection refused"

thanks

Microsoft Windows XP (Pro and Home) has Windows Terminals Services loaded. That is how one gets to use Remote Desktop ability. However, it is limited to one user. If you are logged on to the console and then try to Remote Desktop in, it will prompt you to log off the console.

I am working on a program to allow multiple users to log on to Windows XP.

To enable remote desktop cability on Windows XP, right click My Computer. Go to properties. Select Remote Tab. Check the box to "allow users to connect remotely to this computer". You may have to add your user account as a user part of the Remote users group by clicking the "Select Remote Users..." button.

Once this is set, you can rdesktop into Windows XP from LTSP workstation or Linux console.
