I have a bunch of old Dell Optiplex G1 systems that my company wants to reuse as thin clients. These old machines have an integrated 3C905 NIC and the BIOS is PXE ready. Unfortunately, the version of PXE is at .99 and I was unable to get any of the configurations to work as presented on the various pages that I found.
I finally was able to brew a configuration that allows these old machines to first use PXE and then Etherboot. I think I can offer an update to James Linder's __PXE documentation__ that is listed on the LTSP documentation page. Is there any interest? You can find the mini-HOWTO at http://home.adelphia.net/~smonett/PXE-Etherboot-mini-HOWTO.html > _____________________________ Steve Monett - Sr. Staff Engineer Information Systems - Infrastructure Services > Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now.
