I've been asked to look at a project to integrate an LTSP server and a W2K box that will do authentication and file sharing (normally we would use a Linux box to deal with such matters, but not here). A few years back I gave up on using pam_smb and pam_mount in parallell to mount home directories due to limitations in smbfs that did not deal well with symlinks. KDE needs symlink support and KDE is a requirement here.
It seems that there have been some changes in the smbfs code to deal with this and that the separately maintained code has been accepted in to 2.4.25 and 2.6.x kernels, does anyone have any experience with mounting home and common directories from w2k?
Thanks,
