Hi Guys. I'm new to LTSP but have experience in configuring Diego Torres Milano's PXES software for booting thin clients so am hoping I've got the basics covered in terms of set up and config of the server and client.
I am experiencing the following scenario when attempting to boot my client in the folliwing setup: Server = Compaq ProLiant - RedHat 9.0 - LTSP4 Client = Compaq Deskpto - Intel Pro/100 S Adapter - PXE 2.0 Build 0.78 (Wfm 2.0), RPL V2.73 I have the server and client connected to a private 8 port hub. DHCP and TFTP are configured and functional on the server. I boot the client and PXE recieves the correct IP address from the server. TFTP then kicks in and attempts to load the config file - I do not have a specific file for the IP address set in the pxelinux.cfg directory as yet and am just running with the basic default file. TFTP works it way through the various options and eventually comes to the default file - this file is as per standard instalation with no changes. I recieve the following messages on the client: Missing parameter in config file. Loading bzImage-2.4.24-ltsp-4................................ Loading initrd-2.4.24-ltsp-4.gz................................ Ready. and that's basically it. I am looking for the clients to boot into a graphical environment and have also checked the gdm.conf file as well as standard issues such as etc/hosts.allow etc. Can anyone shed any light please on where I'm going wrong? What parameter might I be missing and in which config file?? Many thanks in advance.
