hai i have a problem with root-NFS kernel compile for
diskless when boot from the floppy disk in the
workstation, it stop and i get following messages
root-NFS : no NFS server available, giving up
VFS : unable mount root fs via NFS
what must i do to solve this problem, most likely
workstation not sending request.
this is step i compile kernel for diskless
1. Some option configuration make build in the kernel
=>Network device support------>realtek 8139
=>Network option--->IP:Kernel auto configuration:dhcp
new
=>Filesystem--->network File system support,root over
nfs
=>kernel automount
2. The kernel copy to direktori /tftpboot and set root
device whit command line like this
mknod /dev/nfs c 0 255
rdev /tftpboot/bzImage /dev/nfs
3. modification dhcpd.conf,exports,lts.conf,
option root:192.168.0.254:/opt/ltsp/i386
host ws001 { mac:00;90;67;09;09;9e;d6
file name:/bzImage
4. I moved the bzImage to floppy
dd =if/tftpboot/bzImage of=/dev/fd0
i use kernel 2.4.18 mandarke 8.2, ltsp_core v3.0.4,nfs
utils-0.3.3-3mdk,tftpboot server-0.29.2,dhcpd common &
server.
i ask for you help strategy to developng diskless
compile kernel it self

specialy for mandarake distribution please share with
