This should depend of your syslog. If it has the possibility to filter
messages, it should be able to differentiate the messages on the hostname
field. My syslog does not have such facility, so I'd have to go for a "named
pipe". If I understand this concept correctly, you setup a program (a perl
script or similar) that generates a virtual file (like /var/log/fifo-1) which
is entered as output file, preceded with a | sign (read syslogd man page for
details). This perl script would be able to do any regex matching or whatever
you like on the syslog messages from remote hosts.

You have the freedom to generate an additional startup script which calls
"ntpdate" to retrieve correct and precise clock time and then hwclock
--systohc to copy that time into the mainboard-soldered clock chip.
Advice: Setup a local ntp server (e.g. on your LTSP server) and let that sysnc
against reliable time sources; all LTSP clients then can sync against the
LTSP server. I use ptbtime1.ptb.de and ptbtime2.ptb.de
(Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Braunschweig/Germany), who run an
atomic clock precision time server - you'll surely find hundreds of hosts to
use elsewhere on the world.
