Hi,

I've got one 3com EtherLink III card here with a boot PROM. It's an ISA PNP and according to the DOS software I downloaded from 3com's site to adjust it, everything works fine. I activated the boot PROM, and the test program says it's ok. The boot PROM is labeled Bootware v1.0, 1992, Lanworks Technologies (the chip is from another 3com card with an older BNC connector).

When I boot the PC, the NIC is obviously trying to build up some connection to the server, but it just says no answer and Rx2 Rx2...

Up to now, I've been making boot diskettes for the various NICs here according to the instructions for LTSP. That worked fine.

Just an idea why this old card doesn't get through to my DHCP server? Is it looking for something else than DHCP? Can I use it here, anyway?

Thanks for all answers!

Rolf
