Hello,

Please help.

I am trying to get my Logitech MX700 cordless mouse to work with LTSP. The
client recognizes it, but I can only move the cursor up and down (in a
very drunken fashion).

Details:
The MX700 mouse is part of the Logitech Cordless MX Duo keyboard and mouse
package. Two devices, one receiver, one usb plug.

The keyboard works fine in LTSP. The mouse only wants to go up and down in
a rather drunken fashion. A different (wired) usb mouse works fine.

What is particularly aggravating is that both devices work perfectly in
other Linux systems (Debian and Knoppix Terminal Server). So, I know Linux
supports it and that my client (HP T5500) supports it.

Here is my lts.conf:
[Default]
        SERVER             = 192.168.0.2
        XSERVER            = auto
        MODULE_01          = usb-uhci
        MODULE_02          = keybdev
        MODULE_03          = usbkbd
        MODULE_04          = mousedev
        MODULE_05          = usbmouse
       # I have also tried IMPS/2, PS/2, and auto protocols
        X_MOUSE_PROTOCOL   = "ExplorerPS/2"
        X_MOUSE_DEVICE     = "/dev/input/mice"
       # I have also tried 100 and 800 resolution
        X_MOUSE_RESOLUTION = 400
       # I have also tried 3 and 5 buttons
        X_MOUSE_BUTTONS    = 7
        X_MODE_0           = "1280x1024"
        USE_XFS            = N
        SOUND              = Y
        SOUND_DAEMON       = nasd
        SMODULE_01         = soundcore
        SMODULE_02         = ac97_codec
        SMODULE_03         = via82cxxx_audio
        SCREEN_01          = startx
        SCREEN_02          = shell

A 'getltscfg -a' on the client show what is expected given the above
config. The XFree86.0.log (even with -logverbose 999) seems to show a
working mouse.

The XF86Config-4 config files on the working (Knoppix Terminal Server) and
non-working (LTSP) instances seem to be functionally identical in the
mouse section.

Any ideas?

Please help.
