Can you be more specific as to what type of data? i.e. Would a nightly rsync
of the servers suffice or do you need real-time updating?
General office documents. Letters. Program papers. A spreadsheet or two.
We have some MS Access databases, but they would be re-written to use web-access.
Most of the time real-time update is not needed. But from time to time people are collaborating on a document: fund raising proposal, handbook, etc. And they would need to have current versions at hand. It would be too confusing for staff to figure out where the master copy is.
Plus we would like to have one central file store on a master server with a tape backup on that server. The boot servers at the remote sites would not have tape backup.
