we run something similar within 3 offices having 64k DSL lines. rsync
through cron is your friend for syncing /home directories. The frequency
can be determined by you. We also allow login anywhere to all users so
that some of them who move from office to office have their files and
desktop at whichever site they work at.
Side benefit is that the data is backed up at three locations.
