When talking about thin clients and net-booting in general, no they don't. I don't see any reason why they should need to with LTSP, as the client and server roots are clearly separated. The main challenge will probably be recompiling LTSP for PPC - you'll probably need a ppc cross-compiler for i386, and I don't know if the build scripts are set up to handle cross-compiling (or if the programs build properly with arch=ppc).
