Theoretical: Just do in /opt/ltsp/i386/etc what you would normally do in /etc/printer. Isn't there a driver loaded as well, which takes care of uploading the firmware from /etc to the printer? That must also be taken care of, but without more information about such a driver (kernel module? program?)
