Hi Richard and list, - I think the above looks like a safe path. I tried it out on a VMware machine (SuSE9.2) - this was fine, except I never got the USB to work - but that was due to the VM. On real hardware, however, I ran into trouble. It gave me some weird X-error that I don't think that even JM had ever heard of. I posted a question regarding this error some time ago, one sec... I'll go find his answer...yup, here it is. Only the question though, I did send the lts.conf file, but I didn't see any further on this: > On Thu, 21 Apr 2005, Verner [iso-8859-1] Kjrsgaard wrote: > > Hi list, > > > > I just setup (updated, in fact) 4.1.1 on my usual test-server. I mean, just keep the entire directory path to some safe place, keep a backup of exports, dhcpd.conf, hosts.allow and we're done. Right? OFF TOPIC: I ran into a pile of brand new Mac/G4s that a school wants to use as thin clients. I've started a thread on this list regarding this. I'm keeping a close eye on this - and I wish I knew more about Macs. Apparently the worlds greatest machine, only I fail to see where it's so great... :-) If anyone reading this can help me transform my mind about Macs as thin clients, I'll be most gratefull!
