>From what I recall, the older 32 bit distributions if they do
not have a new enough Kernel will crap out when they encounter the
new CPU flags and so on.  We saw a lot of problems with the first
gen of hardware, anyway.  Also, the installer may not handle it in
this case.

Not to mention that other things will probably be
missing like ethernet drivers to deal with the newer chipsets, etc.
