- boot your remote machines (clients) into something tiny with a local X

- install NX-clients on the local client machines.
- then use NX-client against the remote LTSP server running either FreeNX or 
NX-server.

LTSP will then feed the local clients and NX will feed the remote clients. It 
works excellent over a 128Kbit ADSL line.
