Can people stop just blindly pointing people to
http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/LocalMedia in relation to non USB
floppy or cdrom local drive access. From my testing and those of others,
the method stated and files supplied at this location are not compatible
with samba (or is samba and 0 byte files..either way supermount is not
triggered). I believe the ltsp guys are working on resolving this.

I only say this as a client had issues with floppies after upgrading to
4.1.1. I created a solution that worked and charged accordingly. Later that
month I then had to justify myself and prove my solution compared to the one
on the wiki (at my own time) after someone, I assume with good intentions
but with no knowledge, referred him to the LocalMedia wiki.

Out of interest the solution put forward by Umberto at
http://www.unicolet.org/linux/ltsp.html is very similar to my approach but
easier to implement and I recommend it as a good starting point for others
caught by the ltsp 4.1.1 local floppy drive / samba / supermount issue.

I do not speak for or represent the ltsp team.
