You need to use more words to describe your problem an be exact else those 
trying to help can't:

then you say

One of those is wrong. The advice depends on which is.

Is the blue screen a splash screen (frame buffer splash) while booting?
Usually you can boot with a splash=verbose option

Are you getting the blank screen with an 'X' cursor?

ie are you getting an X session with no login 
or are you hanging on the splash during boot?
