The client keeps it's files on the server, but this is convenience - it does not NEED to. The client runs a x-session on the server, this too is convenience - it could run it's x-session on *any* server that it could reach, without affecting anything else. So the client has absolutely NOTHING to do with the SERVER. (the server is convenient to use) It sometimes does work (coping files, compiling on the server etc), but the rule is *you can only build programs for a client by compiling on LBE* Step 1: make your hardware work as a standalone machine Step 2: do the same thing (hw setup) for ltsp.
