My personal preference is repartition and format my drives, because these units are now shipping with autorun programs that could cause issues on Windows systems. That, and I prefer the simplicity of a single valid partition versus multiple partitions with overlapping extents for some mysterious (or nefarious?) purpose. But I can be particular sometimes... :)
