After messing with Ubuntu Dapper I switched to Edubuntu. According to
some info I read it just works. That info is partly true.
1. After install I booted the thin client and it connected (NICE!)
2. When I log in I here sound
3. I connected an IPod and an icon showed on the desktop
That's with out configuring anything. I ran into problems playing sound
with xmms.
1. I tried to play an Internet radio station with xmms
1. It played the sound on the server but not the thin client
2. Did some research and tried "essddsp xmms" with no luck
2. I tried switching to puls audio with no luck either
1. Followed the instructions at
http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Edgy/HOWTO:_PulseAudio#PulseAudio_configuration
2. The thin client boots with an error
1. It doesn't like the /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/sbin/ldm changes
I found information on the net where people claim audio works. Even with
xmms. There are even reports about flash 9 working in Firefox. I haven't
found any instructions that tell you how to configure audio of any kind.
At the end of this project I need the following.
1. xmms audio
2. flash 9 audio
3. mplayer video audio ( not that important )
Can someone point me in the right direction?
