FYI: I've been running a setup like the one described by Kai here - for a long time. Works like a breeze. Only, you need memory. Lots of it. 4G in my machine(s). And, yes, I'm (now) using the free VMware server, I actually bought it from version 3, now I just use the free one. Search this list for how-to get sound from windows into your clients.
