Don't exactly know what I did, but for some reason, I had a Windows Share mounted to a file in my .Trash folder ??? I don't know how that happened, but maybe I had it mounted and thought it was an empty folder. I discovered it by using cat /proc/mounts. Anyway, I unmounted that, simplified the smbfs mount found on www.ubuntuguide.org, re-ran mount -a and it works beautifully, both locally and on the clients. I am really sorry to take up people's time and thank you so much for your support! PS: I also tried AutoFS and it seems to be working great in our LTSP environment. It is a real simple setup and allows people to have 'transparent' connections to their windows shares. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
