The first reason is that the server is up and working fine, except for that 
silly
problem. I am a little shy about stopping something that works to go for the 
latest
version. The second one is from what I read, lack of documentation. Third 
point, on
my system, the packages refer to version debian 0.99 ? It is hard to figure out 
which
version of ltsp it is linked to ! That in fact could be an explanation, could 
there
be a mixup of different versions of ltsp ?

Hi.
It was installed, obviously in lts.conf. I followed a few different
pages telling where to
put it and how easy it was! As I mentionned, the server has been working
for a few months
before I was asked to introduce the local storage for USB keys. There is
a seemingly good
guide for debian etch on ltsp, but it does not work for me. There is a
mention about the
ltspfs daemon whic I compiled and ran, but it does not help.
