I asked the question because ltsp5 is in etch, except ltspfs still in unstable 
(because of the freeze)

0.99 is Debian version of ltsp5
Ltsp5 on Debian comes from Ubuntu. You should read both changelog (ubuntu and 
debian) to see what is expected in the next package versions. The doc is 
mainly in the Ubuntu wiki (this page 
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuLTSP links to the docs)
