Thanks for the quick responses.
   
  After the suggestion, I've done the ltsp-update-sshkeys.  This has not helped 
as the system is still refusing remote logins on the user account.  I should 
have mentioned that I can use this account to log in directly on the server 
with no issues.  In looking at the .Xaccess-error file (not sure of exact 
spelling at my current location) I see that there's an attempt at the account 
trying to Login, then it closes out with "Unable to open display: ' ' "

You need to run ltsp-update-sshkeys

Hi Michael,

Try to login with your user directly on the server. It seems to me
that you have any error in your login (said, your home dir is
inaccessible, your session manager isn't working, etc).
