Hmmm... I have no /var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/lts.conf either but
/opt/ltsp/i386/etc/lts.conf:

[default]
     SERVER              = 192.168.33.1
#    USE_XFS             = Y
#    XFS_SERVER          = linserver
     #SOUND              = Y
     #LOCALDEV           = Y
     #CONFIGURE_X        = Y
     X_COLOR_DEPTH       = 16
     XKBLAYOUT           = hu
#    XkbRules           = base
     X_DPMS             = Y
     X_DPMS_STANDBYTIME = 5
     X_DPMS_SUSPENDTIME = 10
     X_DPMS_OFFTIME     = 15
#    X_HORZSYNC         = 30-81
#    X_VERTREFRESH      = 56-75
#    X_MOUSE_PROTOCOL   = ImPS/2
     X_MODE_0            = 1024x768
# see also inittab!
     SCREEN_05           = ldm
     SCREEN_08           = top

[OLD]
     X_MOUSE_PROTOCOL    = ms

[152.66.33.151] LIKE = OLD
     X_MODE_0            = 1152x864

[etc.]
