1. Yes. 2. Oh, no: the clients would have two graphical login screen,
rdesktop (C-A-F4) to a w2K server and ldm (C-A-F5) to the ltsp-server

Not really. Ldm login needs a SOUND_DAEMON (pulseaudio), so the 
faking with "rdp" is not good for me. According to this wiki I have to 
choose whether rdesktop shall be able to use the sound or "ldm"... (?)

That's why I wrote this:

Yes. Though, I find LTSP great, but it is like a drug: one wants more and 
more... :-)

Thanks the reply. Yet another comment:
at ltsp-client as root, aplay works but paplay doesn't (Connection 
failure: access denied), e.g.:
paplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
