did you try without lts.conf ? in ltsp5 lts.conf should only be used to
overrride the autodetection ... if anything of the basic stuff like X,
sound or localdevice support doesnt work out of the box then this is a
bug we need to fix [1]

thats a ltsp 4.x option, ltsp5 doesnt have xfree86 anymore, it uses xorg
if you actually need to set options see
/opt/ltsp/i386/usr/share/doc/ltsp-client-core/examples/lts-parameters.txt.gz
for valid values ...
