If you want to upgrade to ubuntu 8.04 then it is recommended to first bring
your 7.04 right up to date, upgrade to 7.10, then upgrade to 8.04, as stated
here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/UpgradeFromOldVersion

Once the upgrade is done you can decide if you'll need to update your chroot
