Had tried this some 9 months back with pulseaudio and several linux 
soft-phones twinkle, ekiga, etc but not much success. Did manage to get 
some sound travelling both ways, but was not really acceptable.

Had to give it up due to several constraints. Plan to work on the above 
link soon again. Do let us know if anyone meets any success. Pls keep 
posting updates / deviations.
