wait for the so called "nettops" ;) they are using essentially the same
board as the latest eeePC but have a very small desktop case, so you
dont have to pay for the laptop stuff ... i assume you might get them
for about €100-200 without any disk, so that would then make the perfect
client ;)
(even though with an ATOM CPU its a *bit* overpowered)
i will provide an option to build client images for the lpia (low power
intel architecture) architecture in ubuntu 8.10, the optimizations that
were developed by canonical and intel for ATOM over the last 1.5 years
(mainly for the ubuntu mobile platform as well as the father of all
subnoteboks, the Classmate PC) will give the device a massive speedup
and also reduce its power consumption in great parts.
