Hello James. I'm stucked with this same problem, i've at least >100 eBox thin clients, this hardware worked with ltsp4.2 and opensuse wonderfully, but can't boot with ltsp5-kiwi.

The KIWI kernel is compiled for newer hardware. To get around this I dropped an ubuntu /opt/ltsp into SuSE-11 and with minor fiddles this works fine. (Rebuilding the kernel was a DVD download and then ...)
