We are using LTSP 5 with Ubuntu Hardy Heron. Our students (users of the network) are divided into groups according to their class. When someone inserts a flash disk into his/her computer, the device icon appears not only on his own desktop, but also on the desktops of all his classmates (e.g. users from the same group).
I think the reason for this behavior could be the fact that their folders in /media (which are created by lbmount) have read right both for the user and the group. When read would be granted only to the current user, the device might not appear on others' desktops. I would really appreciate any suggestions or recommendations on how to solve this problem.
