When u run glxinfo, I assume you mean you are running that on the thin
client via a gnome terminal, which will in fact be executed on the
server, not the thin client. Which is why you see nvidia mentioned,
which is presumably the card of the server. In order to get to the
thin client and debug, you must hit alt+cntrl+f2 and login with the
root user. You may need to set the password in the thin client chroot
to do that. When you say the thin client doesn't work with via
defined, what do you mean exactly?

Also, its highly recommended you use LTSP5 as ltsp4.2 is no longer supported...
