Hey, the error is gone with an upgrade of kiwi-ltsp images and related 
rpms. Can anyone pin-point what could have been the problem?

However, there still seem to be some minor issues in getting to the 
login screen. I think I can iron them out, else will be shouting out for 
help again. ;-)
