Hi,

- My ten cents :-)
I've set up many LTPS systems, albeit mostly version 4.2 and only very
recently KIWI/LTSP5. I use SuSE11,  not Ubuntu.

But perhaps this little hint may be of a little help. I find that most
problems of mine are due to permissions. For example, I normally use a
umask of 027 for my users - sometimes even more restrictive. This
causes many files to have insufficient permissions.

I would check all files in the LTSP system for permission errors. That
is; files having 750 or worse.

My standard lts.conf could look like this:

[default]
     SOUND=True
     LOCALDEV=True
     CONFIGURE_X=true
     SERVER=123.123.123.123
     SCREEN_07=ldm
     LOCAL_APPS=true
     XkbLayout="dk"
     LDM_DIRECTX=true
     LDM_LANGUAGE="da_DK.UTF-8"

Hope this is of little help.
