A few more findings:
/var/log/messages on the thin-client clearly show that the printer is 
easily and correctly identified as soon as it is connected to the USB port.

CUPS on the LTSP server - error_log and access_log show no errors 
whatsoever and every print job shows as successfully completed but yet 
we have no print output.

Any suggestion or help shall be highly appreciated.
